Markets

The apartment is halfway between two markets. Just a few minutes walk turning left in Tooley St outside the apartment towards London Bridge, you can reach Borough Market, under the railway bridge and next to Southwark Church. It’s a lovely market, open all day from Thursday to Saturday, and just for lunch from Monday to Wednesday, where you can find every kind of food you can think of.

To reach Maltby Street Market turn right outside the apartment and go ahead until the end of Tooley St, then turn right into Tanner St, you will find the market nestled between the railway arches. It’s open just on Saturday and has a huge gastronomic offer.

Supermarkets

There are three supermarkets a few minutes away from Tooley Street: two Tesco and one Mark & Spencer, the closest are located in the same street of the apartment, towards London Bridge; the other one is besides Tower Bridge, just on the right side. They are open late every day. A little bit far away from the apartment there is a larger supermarket, Sainsbury’s, in Bermondsey Square, almost 10 minutes walk. There are also OFF LICENCE stores selling alcohol and tobacco in the area, the closest one is just in front of the apartment.

Museums and Monuments

Few minutes away from Tooley Street you can reach the riverside, starting from Shad Thames, then the Queen’s walk and Bankside, where attractions range from the Design Museum and the Tate Modern, next to the Millennium Bridge, Southwark Cathedral, the Shakespeare’s Globe, London’s tallest building, The Shard, and obviously Tower Bridge. Away from the river to the South you can reach lots of other attractions: the Clink Prison Museum, the Fashion and Textile Museum and the Old Operating Theater, with a show of the surgical techniques of the Victorian era.

Instead crossing Tower Bridge to north you can reach Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, knows as Tower of London, a historic castle used in different ways starting to the medieval age.

Theater

There is a theater very close to the apartment, just two minutes away towards London Bridge, the Unicorn Theater, 147 Tooley Street, London SE1 2HZ   Tel 020 7645 0560

Parking

Garden

There is a lovely green space not far from the apartment with great view of the River Thames and the London skyline, it is the Potters Fields Park.

If you go along towards the end of Tooley Street, when the road becomes Jamaica Road, you can reach Southwark Park which hosts tennis courts, a boating lake, some cafés, an art gallery and many wonderful gardens.

Transports

The closest underground stations are London Bridge, on the Northern and the Jubilee lines, and Bermondsey on the Jubilee Line. These two stations are almost equidistant both at opposite directions of each other on the same straight line of Tooley Street.

Also Monument and Tower Hill, on the District and the Circle lines, are not so far.

Southwark is also served by National Rail Service to London Bridge Station. Bus routes which run centrally from London Bridge are following:

141 - from London Bridge to Palmers Green through City of London and Shoreditch

133 - from Streatham to Liverpool Street through Brixton, Lambeth, City of London

43 - from London Bridge to Friern Barnet through City of London and Islington

21 - from Newington Green to Lewisham through Walworth, City of London and Shoreditch

RV1 - from Tower Gateway to Covent Garden through Waterloo, Southwark and Tower Bridge

381 – directly outside the apartment goes towards Waterloo passing by London Bridge and towards Bermondsey. This is convenient if you want to jump on the bus to reach either underground stations in less than 5 minutes.

The area has lots of docking stations for the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme, the closest one is in the same street of the apartment, just in front of Potters Fields Park.

Oyster Cards

There are four Oyster cards in the apartment for guests to use. They can be loaded with credit at any underground station and retailers with the Oyster card sign. They allow you to use the underground, buses and train at a discounted price than single tickets and are very easy to use. There are leaflets in the apartment that explain how to use them.

Your apartment was wonderful. So clean and full of everything we could need. We had a great time in London and hope to be back some day!

Thank you for opening up your home to us. The stay was perfect even though this is the hottest summer since 1976! Loved being so close to Tower Bridge! We enjoyed theatre, sites and a concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This was "home" for our family of three for one week.

Great apartment for an all girls birthday party trip to London. We enjoyed our stay and will recommend your flat to all our friends! Thank you!

Wonderful time! Thank you for the extra special touches! Champagne and extra fan. Definitely will be back and will recommend to friends. Hopefully we will be back!

Thank you for use of flat. Had a wonderful time in London with the family. Flat was in a great area and everything was great, exceot maybe the 90 degree (F) heat - in London!

"I loved this place"

I loved this place. It's very modern and comfortable and is immaculately clean, and just as the ad says, it has been decorated and furnished at the highest standard. It's very quiet. I never heard anything from within the building, and rarely heard anything from outside, even with the windows open. And it's big! I was alone, but it will sleep 5 very comfortably. There is a big and excellent television with many channels, and good WiFi access. The kitchen has new appliances (refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher) and a large supply of dishes, glassware, eating and cooking utensils, and pots and pans--all seem new. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, cereal, and spices, and there is a small Co-operative Food store about a block away, and a huge TESCO a few blocks away. The bathroom is modern, with a good shower and tub, and a washer-dryer (with laundry soap). The location is great--10 minute walk to London Bridge Station (trains and Underground), also to Tower Bridge and all the many restaurants along the river; buses stop practically right in front of the apartment building. I spend a lot of time in London, and always stay with my friends who live about a mile from this apartment. I was here this time for about a month, but there was a week in the middle of that time that construction was going on in their house, and I wanted to not be in the middle of it, so I rented an apartment. I've rented apartments in London, and other cities, many times over the past 20+ years, and I don't recall ever having a bad experience, but this apartment was definitely the best ever. I was treated most kindly throughout the entire experience. Making the reservation, and checking in and out couldn't have been easier, and a couple times when I had questions, my calls were answered immediately and very pleasantly (even one question which turned out to be a very stupid one on my part resulted in a kind response and a pleasant conversation). This was my first experience using Airbnb, and based on this experience, I will likely be a repeat Airbnb customer. I hope that my friends have construction in their house again, so that I can rent this apartment again.

"Great time in London"

My two friends and I had a great time in London. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The renters are very quick with response and give nice, personal feedback. We loved the styling, the kitchen, the big closets and the neighbourhood. The area is really calm and the Tower Bridge only a few minutes away. We enjoyed the stylish restaurants in the warehouse area near the bridge where they served Share with Friend menu's. The walk to the subway is about 10 minutes, a little bit further away than we thought. We had loved a bigger couch or some comfortable chairs where we could relax after strolling through London all day because there is plenty of space in the livingroom. But what was really great, is that we were able to leave our luggage the day of departure. Otherwise we would have had a problem. Would love to come back again some day.

The flat was very comfortable and clean. That was nice to be there. It was exactly like on the pictures. Tea, coffee, sugar were provided which is nice when you are there only for a few days. The apartment is between two metro stations: London Bridge and Tower Hill. Very convenient. Thanks to Sara who helped me a lot by answering all my questions before our visit!!!

"Well located, well furnished and clean"

We stayed in this flat close to Tower Bridge from the 26th until the 30th of December 2015. We would definitely like to recommend it: it is well located, ideal for 4/5 people, it is well furnished and we found it clean. The decoration is modern and we felt comfortable inside. We were prefectly welcomed and supported to book a cab to Heathrow and we appreciated a lot the services provided. Thank you again for this moment.

“Fall in London”

We recently spent a week in London in a newly decorated apartment with all of the required amenities. Location was fantastic, just a few blocks from Chad Thames where there are many choices in restaurants and excellent views of the river and the Tower of London. Check in and out was easy, we decided to book both to and from the hotel via Nicks Cab which was fun and a great intro to the city as Nick made his way to the apartment while driving close to many of the main attractions. Access to food was easy, local pub on the corner open till ten, small shop on the corner with most main items, large food shop two blocks away. Transportation was easy, we used Tower above ground to Greenwich and underground to the city, we also used London Bridge station for variety depending upon where we were going. Walking was very safe, minutes from the Tower of London, The Globe, the Tate, and across millennium ridge to St Paul's. If you go you will have a great time, bring good walking shoes and a good camera, there is lots to see and do. We are thinking of trying this companies apartments in Poland as we found them easy and reliable to deal with.

“Good located”

The flat was really nice and good located. Tiziana sent someone to wait for us in the apartment, gave us the keys and explain everything about it and the city. Everything went great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or stay again.

Close to Tower Bridge”

The apartment was beautifully finished, newly renovated with high ceilings and with nice finishes. It is located close to Tower Bridge with a nice bar across the road. The apartment backs onto another housing estate with windows over looking this area. The entrance has a number of steps before reaching the elevator to bring you to the floor needed. The common areas of the building need a little TLC but the apartment itself has been finished to a very high standard.
